Introduction

From our country's physical beauty to our world-class cities to our neighborly attitude, Canada offers more than you can imagine. Canada is globally recognized for its outstanding quality of life, stable, progressive political environment and one of the healthiest economies in the world. The United Nations ranked Canada the best country in the world in which to live for eight consecutive years, and we love to share our clean, safe, beautiful country with visitors from around the world. Canadian businesses are ‘getting connected’ more than ever before, exploiting advances in communications technology to reach out into the global marketplace in search of buyers for their products. Though we have always been a nation looking outward for markets, Canadian trade continues to grow beyond our borders. Indeed, with a small domestic market, the steady expansion of multilateral trade is critical to the structure of our economy and the continued prosperity of our nation.

Health

Health care in Canada has long been a source of national pride. Known as ‘Medicare’, the system is publicly financed but privately run, it provides universal coverage and care is free at the point of use. The system is based on five founding principles. Care must be universal, portable, comprehensive, accessible, and publicly administered. But does medicate adhere to these principles? Many think not.
Canada’s version of national public health insurance is characterized by local control, doctor autonomy and consumer choice – patients theoretically have a free choice of physician and hospital. (Kraker, 2002). The ten provincial governments are the key providers of health care, having the constitutional responsibility for planning, financing, and evaluating the provision of hospital care, negotiating salaries of health professionals and negotiating fees for physician services.
The result is that each provincial insurance plan differs slightly – mostly in how far each extends public insurance coverage beyond medically necessary hospital and physician services (Kraker, 2002). Additional services may include optometric services, dental services, chiropractic services and prescription drug benefits.

Education

Education in Canada is under the complete jurisdiction of the provinces and territories and as such, there is no federal education system in Canada. In keeping with the national commitment to education, public education in Canada is free upto and including secondary school in all the provinces. However, each provincial system, while similar to the others, reflects its specific regional concerns, and historical and cultural heritage. At the post-secondary level, institutions are divided into community colleges and universities.
There are significant differences between the education systems of the different provinces of Canada. Secondary schooling in Canada could go up to Grade 11, 12 or 13, depending on the province unlike in India, where Grade 12 is standard all over the country. Canada is renowned all over the world for its tradition of hospitality and tolerance. A remarkable multicultural society ensures that you will be welcomed and made to feel at home during your stay in Canada. More than 600,000 Canadians trace their roots back to India.
Canada is a world leader in software development, telecommunications, aerospace, engineering, urban transport, biotechnology, mining technology and environmental industries. As a student, you have a wealth of research and scholars to draw upon a variety of disciplines. Canada offers a wide choice of over 90 universities and 150 colleges and technical institutes, featuring virtually every program imaginable.

Real Estate

Canada’s residential property market remains balanced
It shows a continuing decline in the national average residential unit sales, price, dollar volume and new listings since May. Seasonally adjusted the picture is but a bit different, with only dollar volume and new listings on the market modestly moving up 2.1% and 2.3% in August against July respectively. Comparing the market indices in August-July with their fluctuations in July-June and June-May, there is moderate improvement in percentage of dollar volume and new listings. However, the monthly indices were not optimistic for British Columbia and Newfoundland, where a slight decrease is registered even in residential MLS unit sales. Noteworthy was the nationwide MLS residential average home price which reached a record high for that August in every province stopping at $219,754, a 5% year-over-year climb. At the same time the data shows it has been the smallest average price rise for the year.
On the whole the Canadian Real Estate Association news release says the market is good and far from faltering. It was rather steadfast in the low activity summer cycle and is expected to be more balanced in the fall.

Transportation

It is essential to our well-being. Canadians need a reliable, safe and sustainable transportation system to connect our communities, and to connect us with our trading partners. Transport Canada works to help ensure that Canadians have the best transportation system by developing and administering policies, regulations and programs for a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly transportation system; contributing to Canadas economic growth and social development; and, protecting the physical environment.

Confederation Bridge
Stretching 13 kilometers over the sparkling expanse of sea between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, Confederation Bridge is the worlds longest bridge over ice-covered waters. The historic bridge, which is specially designed to withstand the East Coasts punishing winter ice floes, soars 40 meters (120 feet) above the water, and takes approximately ten minutes to cross. The Confederation Bridge offers visitors a chance to drive through the sky, and makes a fascinating addition to any road trip itinerary.
The bridge is a true engineering marvel, and its hollow interior carries utilities such as electricity and telephone service to the Island. The Confederation Bridge is also a miracle of consensus building: when the bridge was first proposed, many Islanders opposed the idea of a fixed crossing. After a referendum was held, though, nearly 60% of the population voted for the bridge, which has become an unrivaled addition to the culture of this charming province.
